You’ll need quite a few pallets to get enough to cover your wall, depending of course on the size of said wall. Even if your wall is in great shape, just think about how much better your living room would look if you did this. Rustic Bedroom Wall

Ok, so using pallets is the perfect way to get a completely new bedroom on the cheap. Really. There are some places that literally give pallets away. Of course, you’ll need to take them apart before you add them to your bedroom wall, but that’s really easy. In fact, this entire wall can be created in just a few hours and imagine how much better you’ll sleep at night when you have this amazing wall behind you. It’s unique and completely rustic, which adds charm to your room and when it costs very little (or nothing at all), why that’s the very best type of DIY in our book.

Wood Grain Wall

Imagine getting a beautiful wood grain veneer wall for less than $50 and in less than a weekend. This is a beautiful vintage look and one that you can easily achieve, if you have the right materials and a few hours of time. We love the larger squares of wood and you can do this in any shade that you want so if you aren’t a huge fan of the darker cherry color, do it in a lighter oak. The most important thing is that you get a great looking wall for way less than you’d imagine and it takes very little time to accomplish.

Wooden Entryway

If your entryway is a bit boring, you can redo it in such amazing ways. In fact, you can turn that entry into a virtual mudroom complete with hooks for coats and backpacks and spend less than $100 doing it. What’s more, you can do it all in less than a day. Really, you can completely transform your entryway in about 10 hours. You just create the look of a mudroom with a bit of lumber and a few hooks. Paint it to match (or contrast) with your existing wall paint and you’ve got a beautiful new entryway that costs very little and takes very little time. Imagine the possibilities!

Plank Wall

Imagine your dining room with a lovely plank wall. Now, stop imagining and get it done! You can and it can be done quickly and cheaply. The really great thing about this plank wall is that it uses a variety of different boards. You don’t have to buy a bunch of the same boards. You can actually use boards that you’ve got leftover from other projects. Now, choose a paint color because you’ll want to add paint to some of them. It’s the “some of them” that makes this wall so unique and so beautiful. Not all of the boards are painted. Some are natural and some are stained, giving it such a great look and one that will instantly transform any room in your home.

Fence Slat Wall

You really don’t have to have a bunch of pallets on hand or head down to your local home improvement store and buy boards to redo a wall. Fence slats can be used and they will instantly change the look of any room. Imagine a beautiful nursery with a wooden fence slat wall. This is another easy and relatively cheap project and one that you can do in little time. Those are our favorite kinds of projects, right? Just decide the type of stain you want or if you want a couple of different colors. Then stain some of the slats (or all of them, whatever you choose to do) and hang them on the wall.

Stained Wood Wall

A stained wood wall about halfway up in any room is sure to give it a unique look. Instead of a chair rail, consider adding a small wall of stained wood slats. This is a great idea for dining rooms or dens and really gives the room a warm and inviting feel. You can do an entire room (depending of course on the size of the room) for under $400, which is great considering you are doing every wall in the room. You just cover the wall about halfway up or so with your stained wood and it will instantly change how that room looks and feels. You can buy wood or if you have it on hand, use salvaged barn wood or something equally as cheap and you can knock the cost down considerably.

Multi-Colored Bedroom Wall

This beautiful multi-colored wall is accented with rustic lights and wire baskets, which incidentally make for great storage. The different colors of stain work together beautifully and give it a very elegant yet rustic look. You simply toggle the planks so that they don’t all match up perfectly, which also gives it a great look. You can do this with old boards or with pallets if you have them. You will have to take the pallets apart but that’s an easy task. This is the perfect accent wall for a bedroom or it would look great in any room in the house.

Weathered Look Paneled Wall

Even new boards can have a great weathered look if you do them right. For bathrooms (or any room, really), the weathered look is beautiful and you can achieve it easily. You do have to put a bit of work into it and it takes a couple of days (mostly for drying time). You begin by staining your planks or boards once they’re on the wall. Wipe them off lightly with a clean cloth and then let them dry. Once dried, you can paint over them with white wash and then blend with a rag. The result is a gorgeous weathered look that is inexpensive and really easy to do. Imagine what you could do to your cabinets with this method!

Beautiful Planked Nursery Wall

Ok, so this is a nursery wall but you could do it for any room in the house if you want. You can use pallets (we constantly tell you how cheap and easy it is to work with pallets) and create an accent wall that will cost you very little and take very little time. The staining is entirely up to you. You can create a multi-colored wall or just stain it all one color. We love that this one is in the nursery because it’s rustic and really down to earth. Plus, it’s easy and that’s our favorite type of project.

Plank Accent Wall

A small wall is the perfect place to add a little rustic accent and this plank wall is the perfect way to change the look of that wall. And the best part? You can do the entire thing for less than $100. How’s that for frugal? You’ll need about two sheets of board for a nine foot wall and you’ll need to have the board cut into various sizes to create the planks. You can have it cut when you buy it or cut it yourself if you have the tools. Then you just need to sand, stain, and admire. It will be easier to sand and stain your boards before you put them on the wall, so keep that in mind if you are looking for the easiest way to create your accent wall.

Yes, you read that right. You can create a stunning accent wall for about $20 and completely change the entire look of your room. This is perfect for smaller walls that house your TV and entertainment center and it gives the entire room a beautiful new look. Just take apart those old pallets and put them on your wall. If you have a few pallets that you can use, this one may not cost you anything but it does give you a wonderful wall that everyone is sure to comment on when they enter the room. You can stain the boards if you want but if you don’t, just leave them with that great weathered, old-world look. White trim on top and bottom really makes it stand out.
